Calendar within the Kingdom of Marthis
The Calendar within the Kingdom of Marthis is largely based on the Trade Calender.
The months are as follows:
Easter-mōnaþ – First [April]
Þrimilce-mōnaþ – Second [May]
Ærra Līþa – Third [June]
Æftera Līþa – Fourth [July]
Weod-mōnaþ – Fifth [August]
Hālig-mōnaþ – Sixth [ September]
Winterfylleth – Seventh [October]
Blōt-mōnaþ – Eighth [November]
Ærra Gēola – Ninth [December]
Æfterra Gēola – Tenth [January]
Sol-mōnaþ – Eleventh [Februray]
Hrēþ-mōnaþ – Twelvth [March]
Much of this is based on the Old Barbarian tounge from the Humans that formed the Kingdom, as such doesn’t use quite the character the common trade language does.
Years are counted in two confusing ways, one has year one as the founding of the Kingdom [there is no year zero], time before that is called Before the Kingdom, often abbervated as BK and Year of the Kingdom, often abbervated as YK. However only scholars and Archivist use this system. Offically the Government uses a system that denotes the Reign of the current soveriegn. Example the Current year is 23 year of Reginald The Third, so 12 day of Easter-monab of the 23 year of Reginald the Third, would be 12 day of the first month of 1189 YK or 7452 AR
